Festive Mince Pie Moustaches!

I don't know about you, but I love all things Christmas - especially Christmas food! This Festive Mince Pie Moustache recipe is an old favourite of mine, perfect for taking to a party or to have with a cup of tea.

So here's how I made them!

You'll need:
  • Puff Pastry 'Ready Rolled'
  • 400g Mincemeat
  • Icing sugar (to taste)
  • Cinnamon (to taste)

Getting started..

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
Unroll your pastry sheet, I use Tesco's Puff Pastry Ready Rolled 375g pack, I keep it on the paper it comes in so as not to damage the pastry. Remember, if you're using frozen pastry to defrost it thoroughly as per individual instructions.
Spread your mincemeat evenly across the sheet, leaving about 2cm around the edge.

Next, roll the pastry from each end to meet in the middle

After you have rolled your pastry up, you will need to take a sharp knife and start cutting you pinwheels. I suggest cutting a slice about 1.5cms thick, this allows the pastry to bake through thoroughly. This gave me 13 Moustaches.

Line up the Moustaches with plenty of room to expand, on a sheet of baking paper so they don't get stuck to you baking tray. The mincemeat will spread across the tray and set - so for the sake of your tray - use baking paper!
I follow the directions on the pastry packaging as a guide for how long to cook these. It suggested 20-25 mins at 200 degrees. I found they were ready in 20 minutes.

Remove the Moustaches from the baking tray and set aside to cool on a wire rack... how long they stay there to cool is up to you!

Enjoy!
